Briefly about Math
Kangaroo Olympiad:
75 minute multiple choice
test.
24
questions (for grades 1 through 4), 30 -for grades 5 & up.
Any student
qualifies who can work independently.
Each
participant receives a t-shirt, a certificate and gifts on
the test day. Each question has point value. 1/3 of
questions are 3 points each, 1/3 - 4 points each, 1/3 - 5
points each. The sum of earned points is the student's
result.
There are
international summer camps and college grants among top
awards.
Questions are
chosen by International Math Kangaroo Committee.

FEATURES
Any student in grades 1 through 12 qualifies if
he or she can work independently: read and answer a multiple choice test.
Each
student receives a t-shirt, a certificate of participation,
and a gift in addition to a competition booklet
and a pencil on the test day.
The competition questions are appropriate for the
students' age, are interesting and challenging.
Pictures are taken and placed on our web pages and
in other media.
Wolfram Research
is offering Mathematica license for
all 6th-grade and
up participants after they take an on-demand
webcast on getting started with Mathematica.
In May students who earned at least ten top
scores at each level of participation are
awarded with gold, silver, bonze and other
medals and with gifts. International Summer
Camp in Europe and college grants are among the
top awards . Also, in each participating
state 1st in the state are
recognized at each level. More awards maybe
granted in states where State Directors are identified.

If special accommodations
are needed, please contact your center manager
no later than 2 weeks before the competition. All requests will be respected. |

FACTS
Level
of participation is the student's school grade
level. Participation at levels lower than the
actual school grade level is not allowed. School
Reports will be verified in the competition
room.
There is
recognition, a
certificate, a gift for each
participant and Gold Medals,
College Grants, and International Summer
Camp for the top winners.
Each participant
receives
a competition booklet, an answer form, a pencil,
a t-shirt, a certificate of participation, and a
gift on
the test day. There will be awards for at
least the top ten winners at each level in May.
